A woman is giving a child a flower in a flower garden. The artist is Jessie Willcox Smith (1863-1935), an early twentieth century artist from Pennsylvania who studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts under Thomas Eakins. and later at the Howard Pyle Institute at Drexel. She is known for her beautiful images of children.
